Obituary of Grace K. Stam

Grace K. Stam, 98, of 1300 S. Lake Howard Drive in Winter Haven, FL where she resided with her daughter, died Friday, December 17, 2010 in Winter Haven Hospital. She was formerly of 304 E Elmwood Ave., Falconer, the Hotel Jamestown Apartments and 320 Stowe St. She was the widow of John Roland Stam whom she married September 14, 1946 and who died July 16, 1980. Grace was born June 10, 1912 in Oregon, IL, the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine Tremble Locke. She is survived by a son, Robert J. (Nancy) Stam Sr. of Falconer, NY and a daughter, Katherine A (Neil) Collins of Winter Haven; a stepson, Keith Stam of Gerry, NY; twelve grandchildren: Stacie Martin of Winter Haven, Bruce Valentine of Lakeland, FL, Timothy Stam of Jamestown, Robert J. Stam Jr. of Florida, Andrea Stam of Jamestown, Katie Stam of Celoron, NY, Theresa Rushforth of Lakewood, NY, Anthony Collins of Crown Point, IN, Grace Burke of Scottdale, PA, Jeff Sutton of Jamestown, Lee Sutton of Frewsburg, NY and Cheryl Sutton of Minnesota; and eleven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Wednesday. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
