Obituary of Shirley J. Anderson

Shirley J. Anderson, 82, of 42 Willow Ave., passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in her home. She was the widow of Ronald F. Anderson, whom she married July 25, 1953 and who died October 27, 1994. Shirley was born November 2, 1932 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late John T. and Myrtle Larson Pullan, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a legal secretary for 52 years, working in the offices of E. Robert Bootey, then Bootey & Robinson, and retired from Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo in 2002. Shirley was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, as well as the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed sharing recipes and cooking for family gatherings, but her favorite time was always that spent with family and friends Shirley is survived by four children: Jerry W. (Cindy) Anderson of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey J. (Diane) Anderson of Panama, Shelly J. (Mike) Churchill of Jamestown, and David P. Anderson of Jamestown; and eleven grandchildren: Maj. Nicholas Anderson, US Air Force, stationed at Langley Air Force Base, VA, Jenny (Kevin) McMahan of Anderson, SC, Laura Anderson of Charlotte, NC, Travis (Kerri) Anderson of Findley Lake, Lacie Anderson of Jamestown, Austin Anderson and Shaelyn Anderson, both of Panama, Christopher Churchill of Jamestown, Jason (Kristin) Churchill of Port Tobacco, MD, Andrew (Alisha) Churchill of Rock Hill, NC, and Tesla Grobaski of Fredonia. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren: Chase, Leah & Henley McMahan, Micaleb & Hailey Anderson, Brody Anderson and Rosalyn Lindquist, and Jack, Declan, Michael & Annabelle Churchill; a brother, Jim (Louise) Pullan of Greenhurst; daughter-in-law, Sharon Anderson of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved dog, "Snappy". In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Mark R. Anderson who died April 14, 2006; a brother, John Pullan; and two sisters, Mary Bellandi and Barbara Peterson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick LaDue will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
