Obituary of Mark A. Graves

Mark A. Graves, 61, of 248 Huxley St., Jamestown, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the emergency room of WCA Hospital. He was born October 28, 1955 in Evansville, IN, a son of the late James E. and Jean Jarboe Graves. Mark received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Miami in Florida. He served as president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Ellison Bronze in Falconer. A former member of Moonbrook Country Club, Mark was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, and big supporter of the Miami Hurricanes. He is survived by his wife, Josie Gagliano Graves, whom he married April 12, 1980; two sons: Marc Graves of Ellicottville, NY and Stephen Graves of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, James (Connie) Graves of Brockport, NY; two sisters: Linda (Gary) Carlson of West Ellicott and Sherry (Bob) Kobel of Jamestown; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1st in Holy Apostles Parish, Saints Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. The family will be received friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 12:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Holy Apostles Parish Choir, 508 Cherry St., or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, both Jamestown, NY 14701.
