Obituary of Ralph W. Milspaw

Ralph W. Milspaw, 83, of Jamestown passed away at 2:45 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong area resident, he was born May 28, 1934 in Randolph, NY, a son of the late Ray and Frances Wade Milspaw. Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War from May 21, 1957 to May 4, 1959, receiving the Good Conduct Medal during his years of active duty. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves until May 20, 1963. During his tour of duty he was the personal musician for the General and was a member of the Secret Order of the Golden Dragon. Before his retirement he was employed by the former Automatic Voting Machine Corporation for 26 years. He was a longtime member of the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He was also an avid bowler and had bowled several 300 games over the years. Surviving are two daughters, April (David) Luba of Clearwater, FL, Kimberly (Robert) Swiderski of Jamestown, a son, Todd Milspaw of Jamestown, three grandchildren, Kyle Luba, Michelle Luba both of Clearwater, FL, Andrea Swiderski of Jamestown, a great grandson, Ayden Contreras, a brother, Richard Milspaw of Cherry Creek, NY and four sisters, Hazel Sheldon of NH, Marilyn Park of Cherry Creek, Wilma Cooper of Cherry Creek, Georgia Emily of Conewango Valley, NY. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Jenniings and his companion of several years Donna L. Pihl. The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Carolyn Stow, pastor of the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
