Obituary of Elsie Y. Martinez

Elsie Y. "Bonnie" Martinez, 74, of 121 Johnson St. Jamestown, passed away peacefully, Sunday October 8, 2017 in her home while surrounded by her family. She was born June 20, 1943 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Emma Stover Woodard. Prior to retirement, Bonnie was employed at MRC/SKF for 28 years, and previously worked at Monarch Fuse. She was a member of the Moose Club, and was an avid reader and BINGO player. She enjoyed taking long car rides with her husband. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Pablo V. Martinez; two sons: Paul David (Shelley) Martinez of Lakewood; Timothy Brian (Brenda) Martinez of Jamestown; a daughter: Christine Mary (Michael) Robinson of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Jeanelle, Michael, and Bryan; six great grandchildren: Allie, Bryan, Nolan, Olivia, Addlyn, and Brent; six brothers and sisters: Clyde Stover of Fayetteville, NC; Irene Stillson of Logan, OH; Kirt Woodard and Larry Woodard, both of Jamestown; Lena Brown of Spencer, VA; and Helen Gazga of Exton, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Juanita Jane Caldwell; and two sons: Douglas Martinez and Gregory Joel Martinez. The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday October 12, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday (two hours prior to the service) in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
