Obituary of Mary J. Lovecchio

Mary J. Lovecchio, 99, formerly of 16 Pearl Avenue and 715 Forest Avenue, died Sunday October 22, 2017, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born December 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Parisi Bordenga. She worked for a short time at MRC, National Worsted Mills and Chautauqua Hardware. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Her other memberships include Liberty Athletic Club, Elks Club and the Marco Polo Club Auxiliary. She loved crocheting, knitting and baking. Surviving are two sons Frank (Bessie) Lovecchio of Jamestown and Anthony (Loretta) Lovecchio of Plattsburgh, NY; two grandchildren Mary (Rodney) Lind of Sinclairville and Frank Lovecchio, Jr. of Hallandale Beach, FL; a step grandson William Lighthall; two great grandchildren Lauren and Ashley Lind both of Sinclairville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Lovecchio, whom she married April 20, 1940 and who died May 28, 1996; two brothers Joseph and Michael Bordenga and four sisters Grace Baglia, Josephine Nalbone, Rose Mistretta and Connie Centi.
