Obituary of Marilyn Ross
Marilyn L. Ross, 85, of 206 South Hanford Avenue WE, died Sunday December 24, 2017, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA.
A native of Jamestown, she was born September 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Gunnard and Ruth Anderson Lindquist.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was employed right out of high school as a legal secretary by the Law Firm Lombardo and Pickard. She later worked for several area lawyers until her retirement in 1997 from Lodestro and Associates.
She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir in earlier years. Her other memberships include Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Herman Kent Post American Legion Auxiliary, Celoron. She was a member of the Vikings and sang in its mixed chorus with her husband Larry. Together they traveled to many American Union of Swedish Singers conventions where they made lifelong friendships as they celebrated their Swedish heritage.
In addition to "a ride" to the little casino, in earlier years she was an avid golfer and participated in several ladies leagues. Marilyn and Larry traveled to the Carolinas each spring where she would hone her golf skills with friends from New England.
A beautiful woman inside and out with a quick wit, spirit, energy and opinions, she will be missed greatly by her family and many friends.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Larry Ross, whom she married May 5, 1956; a daughter Kathy Ross (Reggie Nickerson) of Jamestown; two grandsons Brett Crossley of Columbus, OH and Adam Crossley of West Ellicott; great grandson Hunter Crossley; a brother Paul (MaryAnn) Lindquist of Lakewood and several nieces and nephews.
