Obituary of JoAnn N. Kosthorst

JoAnn N. Kosthorst, 86, of Jamestown, NY died Friday December 22, 2017, in the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. A native of Jamestown, NY, she was born August 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Walter Nickerson and Signe Nickerson Maine. She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was employed by Chautauqua County Department of Probation as secretary to the Director. She was a member of Christ First United Methodist Church and it's choir and Easter People Choir, Mozart Club, Mozart Chorus and Jamestown Choral Society. Surviving are three children Daniel (Roxanne) McMaster, Camillus, NY; Mark (Michelle) McMaster, Buffalo, NY; and Sharon (Tom) Drennen, Warren, PA; four grandchildren Rachel (Jay) Manley, Bel Air, MD; Bethany Thomas, Tulsa, OK; Sara (Nate) Brodt, Tulsa, OK and Kate (Adam) DeStefano, Syracuse, NY; nine great grandchildren and two brothers Edwin (Bonnie) Nickerson, Scottsdale, AZ and Howard (Liz) Nickerson, Tampa, FL. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Kosthorst, September 15, 1990 and a granddaughter, Jessica McMaster, August 19, 1982. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30 in the chapel of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Jamestown, NY. Rev. Luke Fodor will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the chapel.
