Obituary of John F. Duck

John F. Duck Sr., 88, formerly of 232 King Street, Jamestown, died Wednesday February 7, 2018 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 2, 1929 in Ameigh, PA the son of the late Paul and Naomi White Duck. John had worked at Dahlstrom Mfg. Co. for many years, retiring in 1994. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved gardening and landscaping. Surviving are two sons: John F. (Linda) Duck Jr. of Chelsea, MA and Brian (the late Jonni) Duck of Busti; five grandchildren: Alicia Duck of Jamestown, Timothy Duck of Warren, PA, Melissa Duck of Erie, PA, John (Cassie) Duck III and Katie (Craig) Ouellette both of Malden, MA; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a sister, Ada Paine of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Lois E. Carlson Duck whom he married April 23, 1949 and who died November 27, 2009; a daughter, Cathy Lyn Duck who died in 1997; a brother, Wendell Duck; and a sister, Avonelle Holdridge. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, 556 E. 2nd Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.
