Obituary of Ronald William Glover, Sr.

Ronald W. Glover, 81, of Geasman Rd., Ashville, NY, passed away at 7:30 pm Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in his home. An Ashville resident since 1989, he was born December 7, 1936 in Farmington, Marion County, WV, one of ten children of the late Charles Edward and Loretta Charlotte Belt Glover. His most recent employment was being an inspector for the Resource Center Workshop, where he worked for several years, finally retiring at the age of 75. During his working years he was a machine operator for Jamestown Metal Products, Crawford Furniture Company, Blackstone Corporation, Jamestown Malleable Iron Corporation, Jamestown Plywood, Hall Baking Company and Chautauqua Plating. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved to keep busy playing in his garage, working on his vehicles and taking care of his home. He was always willing to help other people and had a great sense of humor and always a positive outlook on life. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Marylynn A. Johnson Glover whom he married February 16, 1957, four children; Ronald William (Trudy) Glover, Jr. of Akron, OH, Jeffrey Brian (Sharon) Glover of Busti, NY, Deborah Ann Glover of Ashville, NY, Laurie Lynn Glover Berry of Jamestown, NY, seven grandchildren; Joshua Lee Glover, Christopher Brian Troutman, Brian James Glover, Thomas William Berry, Benjamin David Berry, Jamie Allen Berry, Breianna Chantelle Tracy, 17 great grandchildren, and his siblings, Patty Glover Vance, Delbert Cecil Glover, Larry Richard Glover, Hershel Duane Glover, Linda Lucille Glover Hayes, Carl Edward Glover, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles Edward Glover, Arnold Edward Glover and a sister; Lovonne Inez Glover Robertson. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Roy G. Ferguson, pastor of the Busti Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, NY. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
