Obituary of Sebastian J. Riolo

Sebastian J. "Busty" Riolo, 87, of Jamestown, NY, passed away unexpectedly at 4:39 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born December 2, 1930 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Vincent J. and Carmella Vicario Riolo. Busty was still very active in his daily life and was employed for many years at the former Speedy Auto Top and later for the Lakewood Upholstery Shop, where he was well known for his craftsmanship and sewing ability. Right till his final days, he would help out volunteering his services wherever they were needed. In earlier years he worked for the former Maddox Table Company. He was a longtime member of the Jamestown Moose Lodge # 1681, where he held many officer positions throughout the years. He was also a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Jamestown Eagles Lodge. Surviving are his son; James J. (Darlene) Riolo of Falconer, NY, a granddaughter; Janelle (August Viele) Riolo of Jamestown, a brother; Joseph Riolo of New Jersey. He is also survived by his late companion's children; Mike (Debbie Smeragliuolo) Allen, Jeff (Sandy) Allen, Nancy (Robert Daniels) Allen, Martha (Nate) Abers and their children, Logan, Katlyn, Chloe, Ben, Berit and Emma, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, James J. Riolo, II who died September 30, 2014; his loving companion of 28 years, Johanna J. Allen who died June 4, 2009, and his sister, Mary Bellucci. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of the Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
