Obituary of Edna B. Ruch

Edna B. Ruch, 97, of Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of 60 Chicago Ave, West Ellicott, died Tuesday March 27,2018, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA. She was born July 10, 1920 in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of Gladys and Carlton Brunt. She was raised by her loving grandfather, Alfred Brunt, in Johnstown, NY where she graduated from Johnstown High School. Edna was married to William L. Ruch for 63 wonderful years residing in Jamestown, several cities in western PA and San Diego, CA. Bill predeceased her in 2009 as did her two sons, Jim and Lawrence. Edna worked for many years at JC Penny's and JC Kelso in Jamestown. She enjoyed Bowling very much, playing on local (Jamestown) teams and in tournaments. She also loved knitting, crocheting and doing word puzzels. She especially treasured the many years of wintering in Myrtle Beach with Bill after retirement. Her most memorable vacation was a trip to the Grand Canyon. Surviving Edna are three grand children, Kimberly Ruch-Fairbanks , Deborah Ruch-Ohls and William Ruch; a great- grandson Matthew Foster; two great-great grandchildren, Jace and Mason Foster; nephew Thomas (Cyndie) Ruch of Queensbury, NY; niece Lia De Simone Tampa, FL and sister-in-law Maria Howell of San Diego, CA. Besides her husband and two sons Edna was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley De Simone, and brother Robert Brunt. No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
