Obituary of John David Duda

John David Duda, 64, of Jamestown formerly of Erie, PA, died unexpectedly Saturday April 21, 2018 in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. He was born September 1, 1953 in Erie, PA the son of Antoinette Renzi Duda and the late John Duda. John was a veteran of the US Marine Corp., serving as a Military Policeman. Following his military service, he went to work for the Erie Railroad and then worked at the State Correctional Institution in Albion, PA. retiring as a Sergeant. He was currently working at Shults Auto Group in Jamestown. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He also was a fan of the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers. Surviving are his mother of Jamestown; a daughter, Laurie (Alex) Maza of Greenfield Twp, PA; a sister, Kathleen (Dennis) Palmer of Jamestown; two nieces, Michelle Palmer and Nichole Palmer (Tyler Jones), both of Jamestown; five great nieces and great nephews, Karlie Allen, Kellen Allen, Karryne Mims, Dominick Jones, and Landon Jones all of Jamestown; and his best friend, his dog Jasper. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Cameron Lienhart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (three hours prior to the service) Thursday in the funeral home.
