Obituary of Marian E. Anderson

Marian E. Anderson, 89, of 2123 Southwestern Drive, died Tuesday May 29, 2018 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born April 11, 1929 in Jamestown the daughter of the late John and Hildur Olausson Gustafson. Marian was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School. While growing up in Jamestown, she was baptized and confirmed at the Salvation Army Church and in later years was a member of the Ladies Aide Society. Prior to retirement, she worked at WCA Hospital as an EKG Technician. Marian was proud of her Swedish heritage and a member of Viking Ingjald Lodge #65. She enjoyed baking, especially her Pepparkakor cookies at Christmas time. She enjoyed playing the organ, reading, knitting and tending to her favorite yellow rose bushes. Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by two sons, David (Sharon) Anderson of St. Augustine, FL; Bruce (Kathleen) Anderson of Parrish, FL; a daughter, Susan (Don) Bush of Jamestown; ten grandchildren, Kimberly, Eric, John, Kevin, Mark, Brian, Adam, Katie, Jeff, and Lori; nine great grandchildren, Aidan, Jake, Emma, Charlie, Nolan, Jackson, John Carter, Daniel, Ryan, and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl K. Anderson whom she married April 10, 1948 and who died July 26, 2009; and two brothers, Milton Gustafson and John "Butch" Gustafson. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler, Heritage Chaplin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lake View Cemetery.
