Obituary of Roland A. DiMaio

Roland "Rollie" DiMaio, 84, of Jamestown and New Port Richey, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018, in New Port Richey while wintering in Florida. A lifelong area resident, he was born February 6, 1934 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Alexander and Nina DiCarlo DiMaio. For many years Roland was a furniture refinisher, operating Roland's Refinishing. In earlier years he had worked at the former Monitor Furniture Company and was a Supervisor at Ethan Allen. In later years he worked for the Lynn Development Corporation. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and was known as a lifelong car enthusiast. He loved to buy and sell cars and enjoyed dancing and having fun with family and friends. Surviving is his companion and caregiver, Sarah Frederes of Jamestown, two daughters, Cheryl DiMaio Parker, Allison DiMaio Owen both of CA, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Guido, Frank and Aldino DiMaio and five sisters, Delores Boutelle, Christine Beals, Josephine Zach, Elene Minchener and Hilda Mountain. A committal service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 11th in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate.
