Obituary of Dorothy M. Hurst

Dorothy M. Hurst, 89, of 17 Liberty Street, Bemus Point, died Saturday August 11, 2018, in St. Vincent Medical Center, Erie, PA. An area resident all of her life, she was born January 12, 1929, a daughter of the late David and Elsie Kindberg Lawergren, Sr. She was employed as a private duty caretaker for the Present family and earlier had worked as a waitress and Davies and Ramsey's She was a member of the Ellery VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are 2 sons Timothy (Charlene Terrill) Gustafson of Bemus Point and Thomas (Martha) Gustafson of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren Johan Gustafson, Jodi Buckner, Renee Rogers, Stephanie Spencer, Skylar Terrill-Cassatt and Challie Terrill-Cassatt and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hurst, Jr, whom she married July 19, 1975 and who died July 7, 2005; a brother David Lawergren, Jr. and two sisters Gertrude Tordoff and Sandy Spencer. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
