Obituary of Genevieve V. McIntyre

Genevieve "Jenny" Virginia McIntyre, 94, died September 13, 2018 at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Jamestown . She was a 60-year resident of Busti on Pine Ridge Road. Mrs. McIntyre was born November 16, 1923 in Jamestown, NY to Nicholas and Catherine Schubert Depas. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and artistic painting. She was active in Erlene Lydell's painting classes in Busti for several years and produced a number of paintings of area scenes including the Busti Mill. Her paintings graced the walls in her family's homes. The mill picture is also displayed in the Busti Historical Society museum. Mrs. McIntyre was employed in the 1940s at Maddox Table Company and Endicott-Johnson shoe store in Jamestown. Mrs. McIntyre attended Jamestown High School. Mrs. McIntyre is survived by two sons, David (Candy) McIntyre, Bridgton ME, and Gary (Sharon) McIntyre, Busti, NY; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Mark) Lagoda, Bridgton ME, and Justin (Tamara) McIntyre, Pawleys Island, SC; three great grandchildren, Ruby and Blue Lagoda, and Cora McIntyre. Mrs. McIntyre was predeceased by her husband, Lyle; parents; three brothers, Alexander, Gerald, and Phillip Depas; two sisters, Mary Ngiala and Almie McIntyre Anderson; two half brothers, William and Harry Lank; a granddaughter, Hilary McIntyre. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday September 16, 2018 in the Lind Funeral Home.
