Obituary of Lois S. Isaacson

Lois Shepardson Isaacson, 91, formerly of 4866 Westman Road, Bemus Point, died Tuesday January 1, 2018, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong Bemus Point resident, she was born May 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Walter and Lucile Parker Shepardson. She was a 1945 graduate of Bemus Point High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Chautauqua Chemicals as a secretary. She earlier had worked for Commercial Credit. She was a member of Bemus Point United Methodist Church, Bemus Point Historical Society and Bemus Point Study Club. An avid golfer and bowler, she enjoyed knitting and reading. Surviving are two sons Jeffrey Isaacson of Norwalk, CT and Matthew Isaacson of Bemus Point. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oke Isaacson, whom she married June 5, 1948 and who died May 19, 2014; a sister Viola Shepardson Stowell and a cousin Jeannette Shepardson Arnold. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
