Obituary of Catherine M. Lane

Catherine M. Lane, 97, formerly of 24 Lakeside Blvd., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday March 8, 2019 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born December 26, 1921 in Jamestown the daughter of the late George and Mary Seaborn Bohall. For 28 years, she worked on the pediatrics unit at WCA Hospital as unit secretary. Catherine was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Aux. She loved crocheting, knitting, and making fudge and enjoyed giving it away to others. Most importantly, Catherine was a devoted grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy (Ward) Hallenbeck of Lakewood; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Dallas) McMillan of Murphy, NC; two great grandchildren, Connor John McMillan and Camryn Lane McMillan; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Robert L. Lane who died September 14, 1971; a granddaughter, Sheri Lea Murdock on July 7, 1989; two sisters, Beatrice I. Zenns on January 3, 1993; Cecile Cochrane on July 3, 2005; and a brother, Clifford Bohall on January 25, 2005. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. LaMancuso and his staff, Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, and the staff at Heritage Green for their loving care and dedication to Catherine. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Daniel J. Tyler will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
