Obituary of Lauren E. Proctor

Lauren Elizabeth Proctor, 24, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 11:23 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, with her family by her side following a brief illness. She was born March 18, 1994 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of Bradley A. and Carmela J. Marino Proctor. Lauren was a 2012 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her Associates Degree in Broadcasting from Jamestown Community College and her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the State University of New York at Oswego. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She was currently employed as the Educational Coordinator for the CAAP Program at the Jamestown YWCA and had previously worked as a substitute teacher for the Jamestown Public Schools. During her short life, Lauren was the joy in all of our lives. She had the infectious smile, just like her dad. Everyone who came in contact with Lauren were left a little better in the world. She always knew how to make people feel better with a smile, a gesture, or a joke. She had a great sense of humor. Often the joke with her dad was "You're my favorite daughter". "I am your only daughter". "Thank God". She is now laughing with her father in heaven. Lauren and her mom were inseparable. Their love for each other was immeasurable. Lauren will always be her mom's guardian angel for life. Lauren loved fashion and always looked her best in love with boots and scarves. She would love marathons of "Friends", everything "pumpkin spice", coffee and adored her puppy, Lucy. Lauren will always be remembered as the "spirit of kindness". Surviving are her mother, Carmela "Carm" Proctor with whom she made her home, two brothers; Michael (Krystle) Proctor of Schenectady, NY, Christopher Proctor of Jamestown, her paternal grandparents, Albert E. "Skid" and Mary Jane Proctor of Lakewood, NY, her aunts and uncles; Phyllis and Tom Wickerham of Rochester, NY, David and Lisa Proctor of Carmel, IN, John and Stacy Proctor of Mayville, NY, as well as several cousins also survive. She is also survived by her boyfriend, Kyle Bowman and her best friend Nicole Larson, who were like family to Lauren. She was preceded in death by her father, Bradley A. "Brad" Proctor who died July 10, 2018 and her maternal grandparents Frank and Tina Marino. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials in Lauren's name may be made to The Family House, 5001 Baum Blvd. Suite 545, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-1855.
