Obituary of Alice L. Apthorpe

Alice L. Apthorpe, 75, of Falconer, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident, she was born September 30, 1943 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Howard and Frieda Saline Timblin, Sr. Alice will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and was known for her love of animals. She had also been a member of the Falconer Fire Department Auxiliary. Surviving is the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Thomas M. Apthorpe whom she married October 27, 1961, her four daughters; Judy (Mike) Warner of Deltona, FL, Tomi (Mike) Fitzpatrick of North East, PA, Amy (Patrick) Bateson of Sanford, FL, Jennifer (Gary) Ingerson of Jamestown, NY, 11 grandchildren; Michael (Kathleen) Warner, Krista (Terry) McCoy, Michael (Sheila) Fitzpatrick, Andrew (Cayley) Fitzpatrick, Niki (Matthew) Peacock, Brandon Bateson, Thomas Bateson, Nicholas Bateson, Katie (Nick) Madden, Karie Ingerson, Brianna Ingerson, several beloved great grandchildren, and five sisters; Shirley (Dick) Kahle of Corry, PA, Carol (Lee) Fuller of Jamestown, Patricia (David) Dewey of Rose, GA, Kathy Bova of Archdale, NC, Linda (William) Stuart of Cortland, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters; Ellen Erickson, Anna Jane Monroe, Geraldine Ernewein, a brother; Howard Timblin and infant twin brother and sister. Friends will be received from 2-4 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home where a brief service of remembrance will be led at 4 pm Sunday.
