Obituary of Barbara M. Finch

Barbara M. Finch, 77, formerly of 263 Fairmount Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born March 22, 1942 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Russell and June Morse Barr. Before her retirement years she was employed by the Jamestown Public School System for five years and worked in the housekeeping department at WCA Hospital for 16 years. In earlier years she had worked for the former Firch's Bakery for 9 years. She had attended the former New Heights United Methodist Church and will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved her two weiner dogs, Rocky and Adrian. Surviving are four children; Cynthia (Stan) Davis, Donald (Rosalie) Barr, Raymond C. Finch, III all of Jamestown, Ronald (Angela) Barr of West Palm Beach, FL, three step-children; Ricky Finch, Tina Keeler both of Jamestown, Sonya Finch of SC, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and her brother; Robert L. Barr of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. "Sonny" Finch whom she married September 3, 1986 and who died March 11, 2013, a daughter; Cressid Ryno who died December 1, 2011 and a brother, Richard L. Barr. The funeral will be held at 11:00 Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Gordon Robbins, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Falconer will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. today and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. Barbara's family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Park third floor for the loving care and concern they showed to Barbara over the past year.
