Obituary of Doris K. Rendell

Doris "Dolly" Keefe Rendell, 96, of Ashville, passed away Wednesday April 17, 2019 in UPMC Chautauqua Hospital. She was born January 17, 1923 in Lakewood, NY the daughter of the late John and Clara Foss Keefe. Dolly was a graduate of the former Lakewood High School. She worked with her husband on the family farm and was also co-owner of Chautauqua Perennial Gardens for many years. She was a member of the Watts Flats United Methodist Church and in earlier years attended Lakewood Baptist Church. She was very creative and enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, quilting, sewing, crafts, and flower arranging. She was very devoted to her family. Surviving are two daughters: Marcia (Duane) Faulkner of Greenville, SC; Kay Gould of Citra, FL; four grandchildren: Susan Faulkner Evans of Greenville, SC, Michael Faulkner of Baltimore, MD, Jeannine Mills of Citra, FL, and F. Jesse Gould of Ashville, NY; six great grandchildren: Collin Mills, Aurora, Xander, and Stella Gould, Sophia and Ally Evans; and a sister: Jeanne Green of Slidell, LA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley P. Rendell whom she married September 12, 1942 and who died November 8, 2002; seven siblings: John Keefe, Virginia Fischer, Don Keefe, Ernie Keefe, Robert Keefe, Carol Larson, and Jimmy Keefe. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 20 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Warren Van Dewark, pastor of Watts Flats United Methodist Church and the Rev. Daniel Keefe will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Niobe. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday April 19 in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Panama Fire Department.
