Obituary of Thomas P. Carlson

Thomas P. Carlson, 73, of 499 Hunt Road, passed away Thursday evening, June 13, 2019 in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born October 22, 1945 in Jamestown, and was the son of the late Carl R. and Erna Forsberg Carlson. He was a graduate of both the Bemus Point Central School District and Jamestown Community College. Tom was a tool & die maker at Hy-Grade Die and Tool and later was employed by Valeo Engine Cooling in Jamestown, retiring as supervisor of the pattern shop. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and his hobbies included playing golf, reading about and studying history, and following the stock market. Tom is survived by his wife, Annette Firth Carlson, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past April; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 1993 by a brother, Richard A. Carlson. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Phelps, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, for two hours prior to the service.
