Obituary of Cynthia Yocum Perry

Cynthia Yocum Perry, 69, of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident, she was born January 21, 1950 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Edward S. Visosky and the late Mary Jane Close Shute. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and growing up was raised catholic attending Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Before her retirement she had worked with her brother Gary as a hostess for the Belle-View East Restaurant and in earlier years had worked for the former Fenton Park Nursing Home. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved camping at Hidden Valley Campground, playing bingo and taking care of her dogs. Surviving are her husband, Kevin W. Perry, her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas (Christine) Yocum of Jamestown, two grandchildren, Tyler Yocum of Whitney Point, NY, Zachary Panebianco of Jamestown, two step-children; Kevin (Alaina) Perry of Ripley, NY, Amber Perry of Falconer, NY, three step-grandchildren; Jonathan Lewis, Elizabeth Lewis both of Falconer, Mallory Gorniak of North East, PA, and two brothers; Gary Visosky, Dennis Visosky both of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Shute who died January 23, 2008, her father Edward, who died May 7, 1986, a son, Timothy D. "Yokes" Yocum who died July 16, 2018 and a brother, John Visosky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday in Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 3:45 pm Friday.
