Obituary of Charles T. Fardink

Charles T. Fardink, 69, of Ashville, died Tuesday July 2, 2019, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

An area resident all of his life, he was born July 10, 1949, in Jamestown, a son of the late Albert and Erma Odell Fardink.

Charlie began work at the young age of 16 at Crawford's by the aide of his brother-in-law Frank Kelsey. He had a thirst for providing for his family and was always willing to aid others in getting a job. Later he went on to work for Proto Tool, Crescent Tool and Falconer Metal. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Cummins as a machinist.

For many years he was a member of Ashville Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and racing at Stateline Speedway. You couldn't have a conversation with him without hearing and feeling his pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. More than anything he loved time spent with family especially his princess Leeyah.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan Smith Fardink, whom he fell in love with at the early ago of 14. They married November 19, 1966. He was proud of the 52 years of marriage and the love and commitment they shared.

He is also survived by five children Robin (Andy) Seekings of Mayville, Charles (Stacey) Fardink, Jr. of Ashville, HopeAnne (Kevin) Bailey of Lakewood, Jason (Crystal) Fardink of Parma, OH and Jill Fardink of Ashville; fourteen grandchildren (Josh, Beth, Nikki, Cassi, Alyssa, Brittany, Kate, Samantha, Mark, Charlie, Ben, Sena, Allie, Jack); eleven great grandchildren; two sisters Alberta Allenson of Mayville and Amy Hayes of Sumter, SC and his beloved pet Tigger.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Rooney and two brothers Garrett and Gary Fardink.

A service by Pastor John Bowen, with a celebration of life to follow, will be held July 10th at 4:30 pm in the Ashville Fire Department, Stow Station.
