Obituary of Anny Rahbek Riisberg

Anny Rahbek Riisberg, 83, formerly of 110 Huxley Street and 3038 Girts Road, died Monday July 29, 2019, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing with her family by her side. Coming to the United States in 1964, she was born September 9, 1935, in Kibek, Denmark, a daughter of the late Arnold and Dagney Thomsen Sorensen. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Anderson Cleaners for 30 years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she participated in the adult Sunday school class. She enjoyed knitting hats for members of the military, but more than anything she loved time spent taking care of her grandchildren. Surviving are two children Kurt (Liane) Riisberg of Germany and Vivian (Ken) Swan of Jamestown; four grandchildren Kenneth Swan, Jr., of New York City, Jacob Swan, of Jamestown, Jessica (Andreas) Riisberg Driske and Nicholas Riisberg both of Germany and 2 great grandchildren Dahlia-Fleur Driske and Dean Driske both of Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband Holger Riisberg, whom she married in Copenhagen, Denmark September 27, 1958 and who died May 24, 2002 and a brother Erik Sorensen. The funeral will be held at 10 Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
