Obituary of Beverly J. Hedlund

Beverly J. Hedlund, 93, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. Most Recently of Brookdale Assisted Living in Lakewood, she had previously resided on James Ave. in Jamestown for over 60 years. Beverly was born March 21, 1926 in Hartfield, NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Leola Smith Haskin, and was a graduate of Mayville High School. She married her husband, D. Norwood "Orkey" Hedlund on October 20, 1944 in Jamestown, and together they owned and operated Hydro Fumigating Service, Inc., retiring in 1979. Bev was also a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. Surviving is a brother, Gerald (Marion) Haskin of Kingston, NY; a daughter, Linda (Ray) Fox of Media, PA; three sons: Larry Hedlund of Greenville, SC, Lance (Rhonda) Hedlund of Jamestown and Lowell (Patti) Hedlund of Frisco, TX; and a son-in-law, Daniel Helin of Wilder, VT. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Lisa (Bob) Schmiedel of Downingtown, PA, Eric Anderson of Ponte Vedra, FL, Randy (Becky) Hedlund of Greenville, SC, Amanda (Danny) Rains of Crystal Lake, IL, Erica (John) Perreault of Saratoga, NY, Amy (Matt) Wright of Manlius, NY, Aaron (Lindsey) Hedlund of Woodstock, GA, Sarah (Brad) VanderWielen of Frisco, TX and Katie (Jeremy) Holcomb of Celina, TX; as well as twenty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, D. Norwood "Orkey" Hedlund who died November 5, 1989, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Helin who died January 7, 2013, and an infant daughter, Susan Ellen Hedlund who died July 20, 1948. A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of Beverly's family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
