Obituary of Mark S. Peterson

Mark S. Peterson, 64, of 27 Lakeview Ave. in Jamestown passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing following a long battle with kidney disease. A lifetime area resident, he was born September 25, 1954 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Lee S. and Mary (Dorosz) Peterson, Sr., and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Mark was a big fan of and closely followed the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Surviving is a brother, Lee S. (and Darlene) Peterson, Jr. of Jamestown and sister, Paula (and David) Smith of Lockport, NY; his long time companion, Beverly Jenet; as well as several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Samuel and Lillian Peterson and maternal grandparents, Anthony and Julia Dorosz. Mark's family would like to thank Brenda Barton from Jamestown Visiting Nurses and the staff at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A private graveside service will be held at St. Michael's Cemetery in East Syracuse, led by Father Vladimir Cantor. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
