Obituary of Jeanne D. Johanson

Jeanne D. Johanson, 89, formerly of Morton Street Jamestown and Ashville, NY, passed away Friday September 13, 2019 in the Lutheran Home. She was born August 28, 1930 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Alvar and Hildur Skoglund Fernberg. Jeanne was a graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College. She had worked for the US Postal Service in Ashville and for Slone Melhuish Insurance in Jamestown. She was a member of the Vikings, and volunteered at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and WCA Hospital. Jeanne is survived by her son, Larry Johanson of Dallas, Texas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Thomas A. Johanson who died December 30, 1983. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday September 19th in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, Lutheran Home Chaplain will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday September 18th in the funeral home.
