Obituary of Mark A. McAdoo

Mark A. McAdoo, 51, of Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2019, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born April 24, 1968 in Jamestown, NY, a son of William W. and Alice F. Smith McAdoo. He was a 1986 graduate of Jamestown High School and had been employed by the Jamestown Mattress Company for 17 years. He had previously worked at the former Atlas Furniture Company. Mark will be remembered for his love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He also loved rock-n-roll music and was a huge follower of the group KISS. Surviving are his parent, William and Alice McAdoo of Jamestown, his wife, Karin Buck McAdoo whom he married August 11, 2007, his children, Andrew McAdoo of Jamestown, Jossilynn (Cody) Garbart of Falconer, NY, Mikayla (Nick) Gibbons of Kennedy, NY, five grandbabies, Brehanna Gowan, Olivia Tatchell, Sophia Garbart, Paytan Gibbons, Ella Garbart, two sisters, Kimberly (Chris) Furlow of Mayville, NY, Kellie (Dave Feather) Hudson of Jamestown, two brothers, Matthew (Tricia) McAdoo of Jamestown, Michael (Shannon) McAdoo of Crestview, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Benjamin McAdoo and Elsie McAdoo and his maternal grandparents, John Smith and Catherine Smith. A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at 1:30 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Reggie Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 pm Thursday and for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. Mark's family asks that those attending the service please wear your favorite KISS attire or your favorite sports team attire.
