Obituary of Borge Rasmussen

Borge Rasmussen, 89, of Jamestown, died Thursday October 10, 2019, in his home. A native of Syracuse, he was born February 5, 1930, the son of the late Johannes R.M. Rasmussen and Edith Pedersen Jensen. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1951-53. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years by Carborundum as a grinder. Borge was a member of the Vikings. He enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and carpentry. Surviving are three children Kathy (Craig) Ridgway of Jamestown, Wayne Rasmussen of Jamestown and Linda (Randall) Bines of Laurens, SC; five grandchildren Nichole (Brian) Wood of Bethel Park, PA, Erik (Alison) Ridgway of Ft. Myers, FL, Tina (Rob) Morris of Hill, GA, Garrett Rasmussen of Redding, CA and Kevin Bines of Laurens, SC and two great grandchildren Cailyn and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his wife Viola Lampo Rasmussen, whom he married December 21, 1951 and who died June 19, 2005. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
