Obituary of Randall Craig Olson

Randall Craig Olson, 68, of the Fluvanna-Townline Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Roswell Park Cancer Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Jamestown on September 14, 1951, a son of the late Roger and Joyce Erickson Olson, and graduated from Jamestown High School with the class of 1969. Randy worked as an automobile mechanic at various area garages, including Stronz Tire, Larson Tire, Williams Garage and Townline Auto, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed playing cards, camp fires and going for rides with his dogs "Buddy" and "Cece". Randy is survived by his fiancée, Beverly Heglund and her daughter, Samantha Hearburg, with whom he made his home; two sons, Keith (Melissa) Olson and Craig Olson; and four grandchildren, Aspen, Penelope and Matthew Olson, and Dylan Mlacker, all of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his father in 2005 and mother in 2016, as well as a brother, Rodney "Tune" Olson. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5th at Family Church on Garfield Road in Jamestown. The Rev. Timothy Stahlman will officiate. Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, for one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
