Obituary of Dorothy McCall

Dorothy Marie McCall, 87, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 5:45 am Saturday, December 14, 2019, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born August 22, 1932 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Alvan A. and Elsie Marie Nelson Johnson. Being raised in Rolfe, PA, she was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Johnsonburg, PA and had attended Gannon University in Erie, PA and Jamestown Business College with a background in accounting and engineering. Before her retirement, she was employed as a Senior Engineer for the Carborundum Monofrax Plant in Falconer for 20 years. In earlier years she had also worked for the former Crawford Furniture Company. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was an active volunteer for the Fluvanna Library, American Red Cross and the Lucy Comedy Festivals. Surviving are her children; Lisa Cleveland of Loveland, OH, Jack (Susan) McCall of Edmond OK, four grandchildren; Chad (Alex Ward) Cleveland of Cleveland, OH, Christopher "CJ" (Molly) Cleveland of Westfield, IN, Jack McCall, III of Stillwater, OK, Kyle McCall of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother; Harold A. Johnson and two sisters; Mable Bailey, Ethel Lawson. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Wardvale Cemetery, Johnsonburg, PA.
