Obituary of A. Virginia Samuelson

A. Virginia Samuelson, 96, of Newtown, PA, formerly of 15 Howard Street, Frewsburg, died Thursday January 16, 2020, in Buckingham Valley Rehab and Care Facility, Newtown. She was born December 5, 1923, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Gustaf and Anna Carlson Hanson. She was a graduate of Frewsburg High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the United State Postal Service as a clerk in the Frewsburg post office. She was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg. Virginia loved to travel, having visited Alaska, Hawaii and 18 countries. Surviving are two daughters Shirley (Duane) Munson of Orlando, FL and Linda (William) Smith of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren Lisa Topalovich, Richard Munson, Kevin Munson, Jeff Smith, Michael Smith and Rondee Mikolajczak; twelve great grandchildren and a sister Margaret White of Lakewood. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Samuelson, whom she married September 7, 1946 and who died November 10, 1953; four brothers LaVern, Clarence, Willis and Enard Hanson and four sisters Eleanor Anderson, Lillian Rice, Gladys Fedirko and Delores Hanson. The funeral will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday January 28, 2020 in Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 am on the day of the service and also in Fellowship Hall of the church following the service. Memorials may be made to American Bible Society P.O.
