He was born January 18, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN the son of the late Clark Eugene and Olive Dawn Saladee Peck. David was a 1958 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School in Bedford, IN. In 1959, he started working for Cummins Engine in Columbus, IN, moving to Jamestown in 1976 to start the piston line which was the 3rd line at the time in the Jamestown Plant. While in Jamestown, he took on various management roles in purchasing and engineering, retiring in 2000 after 41 years with the company. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. His annual pilgrimage to the hunting camp on Dutton Pond in Maine brought him great joy. He loved life to the fullest, whether spending time by his wife's side or up in a tree stand, or teaching his children to hunt and fish, David truly cherished those moments. He was a lifetime member of the Jamestown Skeet Club, winning the Chautauqua County Skeet Shoot Championship in 1994. Through the skeet club, he forged many of his greatest lifetime friendships. His other memberships include the Masonic Lodge; Jamestown Rifle Club; Christian Bow Hunters Association; and the North American Hunting Club. David will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but will be forever remembered and cherished.
