Obituary of Timothy C. Brown

Timothy C. Brown, 60, of 54 New York Avenue in Lakewood, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 2, 2020 at UPMC Chautauqua. He was the husband of Kathy Meier Brown whom he married August 12, 2000. Timothy was born June 19, 1959 in Warren, Pa., a son of Nancy Gallagher Brown Grossman and the late Franklin "Chub" Brown, and was a 1977 graduate of Warren Area High School. He served in the U.S. Army from June of 1977 until November of 1979 and then earned two Associate Degrees at Jamestown Community College, one in math and one in science. He was presently employed as a financial advisor/broker at Bodell Overcash Anderson & Co. in Jamestown. Tim was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where he was former Council president and presently serving as church treasurer. He was also Grand Master of the Sylvan Lodge #303 F & AM, having been raised to Master Mason in 2014. In addition to his wife, Kathy, surviving is his mother, Nancy and step-father, Melvin Grossman of The Villages, Fla.; and a brother, Todd Brown of Mission Viejo, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Brown and an infant sister, Nancy Lynn Brown. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakewood. The Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer will officiate. Friends will be received in fellowship hall of the church following the service. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the church prior to the Memorial Service Thursday. The family requests that memorials be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 35 W.
