Obituary of Sandra L. Sorenson

Sandra L. Sorenson, 73, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Erie, PA. A Jamestown resident for most of her life, she was born March 29, 1947 in Meadville, PA, a daughter of the late Ernest and Violet "Tillie" Whitten Wykoff. She was a 1965 graduate of Meadville High School and also Jamestown Business College. Before her retirement, she was a computer specialist at Truck Lite Company. In previous years she had worked for Chautauqua Institution, Vac Air Alloys and Watson Manufacturing Company. She will be remembered for her love of flowers and tending to her rose garden. She also loved listening to music, especially Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, Yani and the Beatles. She spent many hours on her I-pad looking up information for everyone. She had a special knack for managing and working any type of computer device. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, John W. Sorenson whom she married May 22, 1971, a sister, Priscilla Elaine Wykoff, a brother, Gary (Susan) Wykoff all of Meadville, PA and two nieces, Dana Tiller of Meadville, PA and Gina (Shane) Cantrell of Missuola, MT. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Helen Sorenson and her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Neil Hanley. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, a memorial service will be held at a later date and visitation will not be observed.
