Obituary of Roger J. Carlson

Roger J. Carlson, 87, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Corry Manor, Corry, Pa., due to injuries sustained in a fall at his home in Jamestown. He was born Dec. 15, 1932, to Jerome and Tena Carlson of Jamestown, N.Y. Roger graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1954 and then graduated Rider College in New Jersey, before serving for two years in the U.S. Army. After the army, Roger went to work in the billing department of IBM at locations in Maryland and further south. Moving back to the area in the early 1980s, Roger cultivated his interest in antiques and collectibles, helping to conduct numerous household and estate sales. In later years he ran Ellington Antiques with longtime companion, Ron Robertson. Anyone who had the pleasure of interacting with Roger at those venues will remember his quick wit and wry sense of humor. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, as well as sister, Karen Peterson. He is survived by a niece, Jennifer Bailey and family of Biscoe, N.C.; his ex-wife, Robin Carlson of Buffalo; living companions: Ron Robertson and Chris Churchill; dog, Winston Churchill and cat, "Miss Kitty," of Jamestown, N.Y.; and many close and loving friends. We all regret that we cannot get together to celebrate Roger's life and share funny stories about our beloved friend. Leave a condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com. If you would care to make donations, please send them to the Fluvanna Fire Department, 3536 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701 or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
