Obituary of Dennis L. Ayers

Dennis L. Ayers, 72, of 4164 South Route 62, Kennedy, died Friday April 24, 2020, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. He was born May 18, 1947, in McKean County, PA, the son of the late Louis Ayers and Thelma Morey Ayers Wetsel. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a self employed contractor for many years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 American Legion. Denny was an avid sports fan and coached baseball in Falconer for 45 years. Surviving are his wife Terry Wilcox Ayers, whom he married May 9, 1981; two children Daniel (Shelly) Ayers of North Carolina and Dirk Ayers of Florida; two step children Michael Wilcox of Falconer and Tammy Freeman of Kennedy and twelve grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his step father Fred Wetsel who raised him and a son Dennis Shane Ayers. Due to the restrictions from the current pandemic a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with a public celebration of his life to be held this summer.
