Obituary of Lucy F. Colucci

On Sunday, April 26, 2020, Lucy F. Colucci, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 84 in Westfield, NJ. Lucy was born in Jamestown, NY in 1935 to Nicholas and Filomena (Marucci) Colosanti. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1953 and went to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield as an executive assistant to the CFO. On May 4, 1957, she married Leonard Colucci. Together, they raised 4 children Nicholas, Donna, Philomena, and Michael. After her children all went on to college, something she was always proud of, Lucy re-directed her nurturing and caring personality as a home health aide for elderly women in the Jamestown area. Lucy had a passion for playing the piano and the organ. With her large family gathered, she could play any melody, on rapid request, without a single sheet of music. For many years, she was an active member of the choir at St. John's Church. She also expressed her love through the foods she cooked and the traditional Italian breads and desserts she baked. She will be remembered for her willingness to listen, her gentle smile, and her soft-spoken kindness. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Leonard, her four children, Nicholas Colucci (Ellie), Donna Cummings (Michael), Dr. Philomena Colucci, Michael Colucci (Anne), 7 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Filomena Colosanti, brother, Michael Colosanti, brother Leonard Colosanti, and sister Mary Langworthy. In light of the global pandemic, a memorial service in Jamestown, NY will be planned and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at stjude.org/donatenow. Condolences can be sent to Mr. Leonard Colucci; 1129 Boynton Ave. Apt. 1041; Westfield, NJ 07090 or through www.lindfuneralhome.com.
