Obituary of Anna Mae Cobb

Anna Mae Cobb, 79, of Jamestown passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Heritage Green Rehabilitation. She was born June 26, 1940 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gerald and Ruth Bernard Jones, and was a 1958 graduate of Bemus Point Central School. In earlier years Anna Mae worked at CMK Autoparts, Green's Wayside Lumber, Donelson Trucking and Storage, and Duke Moving and Storage. For many years she was a private Tax Preparer and Accountant for individuals, small businesses and farms. She was well loved and respected by her many clients and often did taxes for multiple generations of each family. She counted them all as friends. Anna Mae was a member of Fluvanna Community Church and lived her life with great faith and trust in the Lord. She had also been a member of the Vikings, the Frewsburg American Legion and Auxiliary where she held several offices, and the Falconer Horseshoe Club. She enjoyed travel, cruises, NASCAR and visits with friends and relatives. She especially looked forward to lunches with the Mitchell Road ladies and her other dear friends. Her granddaughter, Taylor, was her shining light and Anna Mae loved attending her many dance, musical and figure skating events. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and devoted friend. Anna Mae is survived by her son, Frank W. (Renee) Cobb III of Jamestown; granddaughter, Taylor F. Cobb of Jamestown; brother, Phillip G. Jones of Russell, PA; a nephew, Kevin Jones; companion, Errol McNallie; and her forever friend, Pam Anderson; as well as many dear friends and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Linda Jones. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UPMC Chautauqua and at Heritage Green for the care Anna Mae received over the past months. Services will not be observed at this time. Memorials may be made to Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
