Obituary of Dennis F. Volk

Dennis F. Volk, 88, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday May 16, 2020 in UPMC Chautauqua Hospital. He was born October 21, 1931 in Blawnox, PA the son of the late Michael and Alma Byrne Volk. Dennis was a 1949 graduate of Carrolltown High School in Carrolltown, PA. From 1952 until 1954, he served with the US Army Infantry in Germany. Following the war, he continued his education, graduating in 1968 from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. For 15 years, he was Secretary/Treasurer at Process Corp. in Warrendale, PA. Previously Dennis was an accountant with Chrysler Corp. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife Carolyn Pearson Volk whom he married March 10, 1980; three sons: Kenneth Volk of Celoron, Arthur (Wanda) Volk of Jamestown, and Dennis L. (Nicholine) Volk of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren; two step daughters: Barbara Ready of Boynton Beach, FL, Cynthia (Ronald) DiNapoli of Jamestown; a step son, James (Kathryn) Graham of Pittsburgh, PA; 12 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Horner of Johnstown, PA; two brothers: Robert (Sylvia) Volk of Jamestown; Russell (Barbara) Volk of Myrtle Beach, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step son, Richard Graham Jr. Due to the current restrictions, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kiantone Fire Department, 2318 Stillwater Street, Jamestown, NY 14701; or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
