Obituary of Cheryl V. Morrison

Cheryl V. Morrison, 76, formerly of 303 West Fifth St. Jamestown, NY, passed away at 6:45 pm Wednesday, June 3, 2020, in the Warren Manor, Warren, PA. A lifelong area resident, she was born February 8, 1944 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of Elizabeth L. "Betty" Baker Thorpe and the late Donald B. Thorpe. Cheryl was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a member of the former First Baptist Church. She will be remembered as one who loved roller skating and ice skating. In earlier years she had worked for the former Bigelow's Department Store and was also a home health care aide for Accredited Care. Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth L. Thorpe of Jamestown, a son, Daniel (Jodi) Morrison of Boardman, OH, a granddaughter, Dani Jo (Victor, Jr.) Gonzalez of Boardman, OH, a step-grandson, Josh Pearson of AZ, one great grandson Zachery Gonzalez, two sisters, Pam Nordstrom, Lori Ginnetti both of Jamestown, three brothers, David (Bonnie) Thorpe of St. Charles, MO, Richard (Sue) Thorpe of Falconer, NY, Mark Thorpe of Jamestown, several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog "Casey". Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Corey D. Morrison who died November 19, 1994. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
