Obituary of Jeanette H. Norberg

Jeanette H. "Jean" Norberg, 79, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Monday June 8, 2020 at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital. She was born April 26, 1941 in Charleston, SC the daughter of the late George Nelson and Harriett Shafer Rowe. Jean grew up in Bremerton, Washington. Following graduation from high school, she worked for the FBI bureau in Seattle. Upon leaving to relocate to NYS, she received a personal letter from J. Edgar Hoover thanking her for her service. In Jamestown, she worked at the James Prendergast Library and then spent several years working at City Hall for the Treasurer's office and the Clerk's office, retiring in 1999. Jean was a member of the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and a former member of the Eagles. She had a love for all animals, especially her cat. She enjoyed cooking, reading and crossword puzzles. Jean was a kind, caring, and nurturing woman who had a deep love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. "She asked nothing of me (her husband), but she gave her heart and soul to me." Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Ray D. Norberg; her children: Cynthia Seastrom Manocchio (Gennaro) of Frewsburg, Kathryn Seastrom Mee (Allen) of Falconer, David Norberg and Michelle Norberg, both of Jamestown; her grandchildren: Renae Pacitti Barie of Frewsburg, Elise Pacitti Lee of Erie, PA, Kelly Mee of Falconer, Zach Davis, Ashlan Davis, Marylynn Norberg, and Holly Norberg all of Jamestown; and her great grandchildren: Alexandra Waid, Emma Waid, Harper Waid, and Alexander Lee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Malcom, Carroll, Don, John, and Nelson Rowe. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
