Obituary of Irene A. Gregg

Irene A. Gregg, 99, of South Main St. Ext. in Jamestown, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at the home of her granddaughter in Quincy, Florida. She was the widow of Ernest J. Gregg whom she married December 27, 1940 and who died February 8, 1998. Irene was born August 4, 1920 in the family home in Franklinville, NY and was a daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Houghton Harsen. She was a 1940 high school graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, Pa. Irene will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, always taking care of her family. She was the center of all family connections and above all, a loving person who selflessly committed her life to taking care of others. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara D. Feasenhiser of Tallahassee, FL and a son, Dennis E. Gregg of Corry, PA; eight grandchildren: Rebecca Mauck of Quincy FL, with whom she resided, Tanya VanDeWark of Tallahassee, Timothy VanDeWark of Coco, FL, Terry Iraca of Saucier, MS, Sean Iraca of Raleigh, NC, Aarron Gregg of Chesapeake, VA, and Julie Gregg and Brandon Gregg, both of Warren, PA; thirteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Corinne Hall of Lakewood, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Ernest, she was preceded in death two daughters, Brenda Iraca and Annette Shafer; two granddaughters, Deborah Jones and Michelle Carlson; a great-grandson, Jon Eric Carlson and great-great-grandson, Carter Jones; three sisters, Margaret Langworthy, Ruth Crisafulli and Marjorie Cali; and a brother, Leo Harsen. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Mark Parsons. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. No visitation will be observed at this time. Memorials may be made to Big Ben Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
