Obituary of Robert B. Allison

Robert B. "Bob" Allison of Jamestown, NY passed away Wednesday, June 24 in his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1936 in Jamestown the son of the late Carl and Florence Allison. Bob attended Jamestown Public Schools until the age of 17 when he joined the US Army where he honorably served for three years in Wurzburg, Germany with the 1st Division Military Police. He retired from Cummins Engine in 1999, after 20 years of employment. For 15 years prior he worked for Automatic Voting Machine. Bob was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion in Celoron for over 40 years. He loved to fish, spending countless hours on Lake Chautauqua and Lake Erie and always had fish in his freezer. He was also an avid Bills fan, loved football, and traveling. Bob enjoyed spending time around the ocean. Surviving are his companion for the past nine years, Leona Seastrum, his children: Roberta Keith, Michael Allison, and Michelle Allison, grandchildren: Siera Allison, Gavin Keith, Sam Linenfelser, Hannah Linenfelser, Carly Bunce, Mikey Allison, Sophia Allison, and several great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Janet Allison, a brother Richard Allison, a grandson Jeremy Allison, and a great granddaughter Reazen Vaughn. Bob did not want a funeral service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care.
