Obituary of Beverly L. Carlson

Beverly Lane Carlson, 87, formerly of 1 Wembley Drive, Jamestown and Hobe Sound, FL, died Wednesday August 19, 2020, in Warren Manor. She was born August 5, 1933, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Johnson Lane. A 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School, she was employed as a secretary at Gierston Tool Company, Inc, before graduation and for many years after. She was a member of Theta Gamma Sorority and Beta Sigma Phi an international sorority. She also belonged to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a very loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother who was an unbelievably devoted and loving caregiver to her daughter Anne who was seriously injured in a boating accident on Chautauqua Lake in 1985. Bev had cared for her with love, 24 hours a day for all these years. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. Surviving are two sons Blain E. "Buddy" Carlson and Timothy C. Carlson both of Jamestown; a daughter Anne Elizabeth Carlson of Jamestown and two grandchildren Gunnar Carlson serving the US Air Force at Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix, AZ and Emma Carlson of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sherwood C. "Bud" Carlson who died May 22, 2009; a son Thomas Lane Carlson in 1987; a brother Richard Lane and three sisters Shirley Apotosh, Joyce Hall and Betty Sorg. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing guidelines are required inside the funeral home.
