Obituary of Donna J. Nieder

Donna J. Nieder, 88, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Lutheran Retirement Home. She was the widow of William G, Nieder, whom she married January 17, 1948 and who died November 23, 2019. Donna was born April 1, 1932 in Dunkirk, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Swan Champlin. She had been employed by the former AVM Corporation and later enjoyed her years as owner and operator of 'Beauty of Dust', a ceramic shop in Falconer. Surviving are her five children: Linda Gray of Jamestown, Patricia (Byron) Johnson of Needles, CA, Terry Nieder of Bemus Point, Diane (Bruce) Clark of Fredonia and William Nieder, Jr. of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Dick Champlin of Florida and sister, Carol Sue Myers of Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews. Following COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing, friends will be received on a walk-through basis from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks are required at all times. A private family service will be held, led by Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
