Obituary of Nancy Lorraine Barr

Nancy Lorraine Barr, 67, of 191 Hunt Road, died Monday October 12, 2020, in Chautauqua UPMC. An area resident all of her life, she was born November 30, 1952, a daughter of the late Wayne and Janice Servis Barr. Nancy lived at The Resource Center's Randall Home for several years with her friends and boyfriend and love of her life Victor. She loved her family including her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews of whom she took great pride. She enjoyed going home to visit. She was a social butterfly and everywhere she went someone knew her. She was known by many as Aunt Nancy or Fancy Nancy. She loved to travel, color and write. Her supply of gel pens, crayons and coloring books brought her great joy. Family and friends were fond of her pictures and magnets. Nancy had a great fondness for bowling with Special Olympics, Davidson's fried chicken, having her nails painted, attending church and a good game of Uno. Her work at the Resource Center included sheltered workshop, interviewing, and volunteering at the Humane Society and 2nd Chances (she loved to socialize with the kitties). Nancy loved life and enjoyed every moment. She could brighten anyone's day and leaves behind great memories and Nancyisms. If there is one thing she taught us is to enjoy the little things in life and those little things end up being the big things in the end. Surviving are three siblings Donna (Bob) Tracy of Mayville, Darlene (Jim) Zimmerman of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Gary (Donna) Barr of Toano, VA; nieces and nephews James (Michelle) Zimmerman of Columbia, SC, Rob (Melissa) Tracy of Fredonia, Christine (Richard) Potts of Falconer and Jessica (Eric) Fawcett of Toano, VA an several great nieces and nephews. A walk-through visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks must be worn, and social distancing is required while inside the funeral home. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. You may leave words of condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
